Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Data Governance Manager to shape and advance governance across the International Business Group, spanning multiple countries and business units. You will map capabilities, identify gaps, and develop a practical roadmap to strengthen governance, ownership, and responsible data use.

You will partner with in-country teams to drive change management, training, and adoption of governance practices while ensuring data quality, privacy, and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data management, statistics, business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance or data management.
• 2+ years of experience in a matrix management capacity.
• Fluent English language skills.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks, metadata, lineage, and data quality practices.
• Experience across multiple countries, business units, and stakeholder groups.
• Ability to assess current maturity and translate findings into practical improvement plans.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills.
• Certifications such as CDMP, CGEIT, CISA, CIPP, CIPM (preferred). DCAM/CDMC preferred.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, logistics, or other regulated industries preferred.

• Partner with in-country teams to drive change management, communication, training, and adoption of governance practices.
• Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional and local resources supporting the data governance agenda.

Job Details

The Data Governance Manager is responsible for assessing, shaping, and advancing data governance across Cencora’s International Business Group (IBG). Covering multiple countries including the UK, Norway, France, Spain, Germany, Türkiye, Czech Republic, Romania, and the USA, this role will evaluate current data governance maturity across a diverse set of business units spanning pharmaceutical wholesale, third-party logistics, and specialty courier.

The role will map existing capabilities, identify gaps and risks, and develop a practical roadmap to strengthen data governance across IBG. Working closely with in-country resources and cross-functional stakeholders, the role will help establish consistent governance practices that improve data quality, ownership, transparency, compliance, and responsible data use.

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data management, statistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance or data management (e.g., data quality, metadata, lineage, mdm, data policy), or a related field required.
• 2+ years of experience in a matrix management capacity required.
• Fluent English language skills.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks, stewardship, metadata, lineage, and data quality practices.
• Experience working across multiple countries, business units, and stakeholder groups in a complex organization.
• Ability to assess current maturity and translate findings into practical improvement plans.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills.
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), or equivalent certification preferred. Certification in EDM Council Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) or Cloud Data Management Capabilities (CDMC) preferred.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, logistics, or other regulated industries preferred.
