DXC Technology in Spain is seeking a Senior Mainframe Network System Programmer to oversee the administration, security, availability, and performance of IBM z/OS network infrastructure. You will install, configure, and optimize z/OS network services, lead migrations, and participate in a 24x7 rotation for global operations.

The role requires deep expertise in TCP/IP, VTAM/SNA, and enterprise-grade security, with strong leadership and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Mainframe Network Systems Programming or Administration.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Strong expertise in IBM z/OS Communications Server, TCP/IP, VTAM/SNA, APPN/HPR, and Enterprise Extender.
• Experience with security technologies including AT‑TLS, TLS certificates, IPsec, and file transfer protocols.
• Knowledge of VIPA/DVIPA and high-availability environments.
• Hands-on experience with z/OS commands, TSO/ISPF, JCL, and performance tuning.

About the Role

The Mainframe Network System Programmer is a senior professional responsible for the administration, security, availability, and performance of network infrastructure within IBM z/OS environments. This role is critical to ensuring the connectivity and continuity of business‑critical services, managing key technologies such as TCP/IP, VTAM/SNA, Communications Server, and high‑availability solutions. In this position, the successful candidate will install, configure, and maintain z/OS network software and services, optimize TCP/IP and VTAM/SNA environments, and ensure the security and resilience of enterprise‑scale, mission‑critical infrastructure. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex connectivity and performance issues, as well as active participation in migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and disaster recovery activities.
