A leading renewable energy company is seeking a Loads Engineer to engage in the technical design of wind turbines. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform simulations and analyze loads, enhancing SGRE products. Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of relevant experience, knowledge in aerodynamics or structural design, and strong analytical skills. Proficiency in wind load analysis tools is crucial. This role offers hybrid work flexibility in Madrid.

Formación

  • 1-2 years of experience in wind turbine loads calculation.

About the Role

Location Spain Madrid Madrid Remote vs. Office Hybrid (Remote / Office) Company Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Innovation & Technology, Organization Wind Power Business Unit Technology Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day You would be engaged into technical design of offshore and onshore wind turbines by means of simulations. Then you would present your work to experts in the matter and define together the best strategies to achievement greatest possible products within the wind industry. You’d also be engaged with other departments as Turbine Controller and Module Management. How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Define and adapt wind turbine models for advanced aeroelastic calculations, ensuring quality in every project.
  • Run simulations across diverse design conditions using aeroelastic codes such as BhawC.
  • Preprocess and postprocess simulation results to extract actionable insights for design improvements.
  • Analyze wind turbine loads and dynamics providing critical knowledge to improving SGRE products and strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with control and component teams to integrate multidisciplinary expertise into every design.
  • Research and develop new technologies for wind turbine design, modeling, and validation, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
  • Provide expert support on critical technical challenges, programming, and methods development.
What You Bring
  • Have 1-2 years of experience as a Loads Engineer in wind turbine development or loads calculation within the wind industry.
  • Your background includes knowledge in aerodynamics, structural design, structural dynamics, or control systems.
  • Hold additional training such as a master’s degree or specialized courses in wind energy, wind turbine aerodynamics, or wind resource assessment.
  • You are well-versed in wind turbine design standards, including IEC61400-1 and DNVGL.
  • Bring hands-on experience with wind turbine load analysis tools like GH Bladed, FLEX5, FAST, or similar programs.
  • Driven by initiative, analytical thinking, and a passion for continuous learning, and you thrive in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written. Spanish language skills are a plus.
