Aresbank in Madrid is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its legal team. You will be essential in drafting contracts, providing legal advice, and supporting operational offices with legal procedures.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Spanish Law combined with 3-5 years of banking experience and fluency in English. Employee benefits include private health insurance and 31 business days of vacation as part of an international work environment.

About This Opportunity

Join our legal team as Legal Counseland become a pivotal part of our strategic growth initiative. In this role, you'll leverage our unique positioning to develop lasting business relationships and create value for both our clients and our institution.

Main Responsibilities

• Drafting, review and analysis of all types of contracts (loans, credit, syndicated facilities, guarantees, finance, …).
• Review of the company´s legal documentation (Articles of Association, powers of attorney, certificates, …), either for account opening or for signing of contracts.
• Coordination with Spanish Notaries public for signing of deeds, contracts, declarations, certificates, ….
• Assistance with the operational offices in the application of legal policies and procedures.
• Approval of credentials for signature cards.
• Approval of credentials for assignment of collection rights and advance payments to clients/beneficiaries.
• Provide legal advice and support to all offices, on corporate law, civil law, bankruptcy law, for signing contracts.
• Coordinate with other offices the withholding and seizure of account balances and reply to seizure orders from Tax authorities and courts.
• Communications, follow-up and work with the Bank´s external lawyers and solicitors.
• Coordinate with external lawyers the management of legal proceedings or out-of-court resolutions.
• Drafting of all types of written communications to the public authorities and third parties.

We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience in the banking sector.
• Degree in Spanish Law
• Knowledge of banking and finance law gained at the legal services of a credit institution or law firms, as well as knowledge of banking products and foreign trade operations would be highly considered.
• Fluent English writing and communication skills. Knowledge of other languages will be valued, but it is not essential for the position.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent skills in commitment, proactivity, teamwork, negotiation, customer acquisition, assertiveness, and communication
