GE Vernova Renovables España, S.L. seeks a Lead Network Engineer to design, operate and secure enterprise network infrastructure across global sites. You will troubleshoot incidents, validate configurations and contribute to high-availability networks.

The role requires CCNA or equivalent certification, strong Layer 2/3 expertise, firewall knowledge, and automation experience with Docker, Python and Ansible. On-site in Barcelona with global collaboration.

Formación

• CCNA or equivalent certification required.
• Certifications in security, OS, and automation are a plus.
• Experience in network support or TAC for enterprise/datacenter environments.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies and protocols.
• Knowledge of TCP, UDP, Multicast and Network Virtualization.
• Vendor-agnostic knowledge across firewall technologies.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and resolve network issues with minimal downtime.

• Manage UTM firewall updates, policies, and traffic flows.

Job Description Summary We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Network Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional with solid hands-on experience in network support, troubleshooting, and security operations within enterprise or data centre environments. You will play a key role in maintaining network reliability, resolving incidents, validating configurations, and supporting secure, high-performing network infrastructure across a global environment. Roles and Responsibilities

• Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network related issues, both hardware and software, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Layer 2 & Layer 3 Support: Provide troubleshooting support for routing and switching environments.
• UTM Firewall Management: Work with UTM firewalls to update security and traffic polices, debug traffic flows and firewall rules.
• Network Configuration Design and Validation: Review and validate network configurations to ensure they align with company standards and best practices.
• Performance Monitoring: Utilize network monitoring tools to validate the health and performance of all network systems.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate network documentation, including configurations and diagrams to accurately depict steady state information.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members, vendors and customers located throughout the world.
• Incident Response: Act as a point of contact for resolving network related incidents and outages.

(There is no requirement for on call support)

Required Skills and Experience

• Certifications: At least CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent certification.
• Certifications in security, OS, and automation are a plus.
• Relevant years of experience in a network support or TAC, ideally with exposure to enterprise or datacenter environments.
• Strong understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 technologies and protocols.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP, UDP, Multicast, and Network Virtualization.
• Vendor agonistic knowledge across firewall technologies.
• Analytical problems solving skills.
• Experience with network performance monitoring, scripting languages and automation (Docker, Python, Ansible) is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex IT issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Education Qualification A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred. CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
