Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced High Voltage Project Engineer to join our Madrid-area data centre projects. You will lead HV substation design activities, coordinate interfaces with facility power systems, and support commissioning and IST.

The role requires a degree in engineering, strong HV civil works background, and fluent Spanish with good English. On-site presence will be required to manage contractors and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (BSc / MSc or equivalent experience).
• Strong background in HV substations, transmission/distribution projects, or grid-related civil works.
• Construction sector experience, ideally within a Data Centre environment.
• Fluent in Spanish and very good English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end HV substation design activities from concept studies through FEED to detailed design.
• Coordinate interfaces between HV infrastructure and internal facility power systems.
• Support and oversee commissioning activities, SAP switching protocols, and IST.
• Coordinate HV civil engineering packages for grid connection projects.
• Act as the client's on-site representative with TSOs, DSOs, EPCs, and contractors.
• Review designs, method statements, construction drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to regulations, safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications.
• Monitor project risks, change management activities, and progress reporting.
