Thermal Works LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Field Service Technician to join our team, working directly with the Thermal Works team as well as local contractors, focusing on Startup/Commissioning and Service for all Thermal Works equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a comprehensive training program at Thermal Works' U.S. headquarters.
  • Manage preventive maintenance and service schedules.
  • Perform on‑site quality control for the installation of Thermal Works products.
  • Perform all preventive maintenance and service needs for clients.
  • Be available to take emergency issues when on call.
  • Monitor service software closely to ensure services are met on a timely schedule.
  • Collaborate with different departments for product development and improvement.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repair of Thermal Works equipment.
Skills & Requirements
Education / Experience
  • Technical or vocational degree/certification in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or electromechanical systems.
  • F‑Gas Category I certification (per EC Regulation No. ********) required for handling fluorinated gases.
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical systems for mission‑critical infrastructure (data centers, healthcare, or industrial facilities).
  • Must have experience with chillers and CRAH (Computer Room Air Handler) units – installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with EU safety standards, pressure equipment directives (PED), and EN 378 refrigeration safety norms.
  • Capable of diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing systems in live environments.
Specific Skills / Abilities
  • Baseline circuit analysis and troubleshooting of electrical components.
  • Knowledge of hydronic systems.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of refrigeration theory and applied sciences.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (additional European languages are a strong plus).
  • Ability to read drawings at a basic level.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
