GE Vernova Renovables España, S.L. in Barcelona seeks an SVO Engineer to perform wind turbine aeroelastic simulations and support both new product development and fleet optimization.
You will conduct state‑of‑the‑art analyses in line with IEC guidelines and contribute to robust, cost‑effective designs. Responsibilities include executing loads analyses, developing models and tools, documenting results for certification, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to push performance
This System Value Optimization (SVO) Engineer role is responsible for wind turbine aero elastic simulations, encompassing New Product Development and Fleet Support as needed. The SVO Engineer will perform state-of-the art simulations, in accordance to Design Practices and IEC guidelines. This person will be responsible for loads execution and tools and methods development as needed. Preparation of certification documentation will be part of the role of the engineer. The vision of the SVO team is to create robust yet cost-efficient wind turbine product designs by providing best‑in‑class load assessment, validation, methods and tools.
Execute mechanical loads analyses, controller tunings and trade-offs (loads, stability, operation and performance) for new products, cost out, design updates, and fleet support as needed. Preparation of loads inputs, creation of the aeroelastic model, execute loads analysis and perform postprocessing is part of the design loop and therefore the responsibilities of the SVO engineer. Perform basic operability checks and frequency domain stability checks. Update loads envelopes Hand off model and controller to MLA team, to execute site specific assessments. Perform feasibility studies and develop tech charts. Deliver best‑in‑class loads mitigation and performance optimization technologies to lower Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) Identify and deliver on ideas for process simplification and tools automation Cultivate an atmosphere of team building and learning, driving new methods/ideas for loads and performance improvements. Effectively communicate to cross‑functionally engineering team and other stakeholders.
Addressing the climate crisis is an urgent global priority and we take our responsibility seriously. That is our singular mission at GE Vernova: continuing to electrify the world while simultaneously working to help decarbonize it. If we want our energy future to be different…we must be different. Our mission is embedded in our name. We retain our treasured legacy, “GE,” in our name as an enduring and hard‑earned badge of quality and ingenuity. “Ver” / “verde” signal Earth’s verdant and lush ecosystems. “Nova,” from the Latin “novus,” nods to a new, innovative era of lower carbon energy that GE Vernova will help deliver. Together, we have The Energy to Change the World. www.gevernova.com
