Descripción del empleo

At Applus+, we are a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, operating in more than 65 countries across 5 continents with a team of over 28,000 professionals. With a strong track record of organic growth and continued expansion through M&A, we continue to grow our global footprint, and our tax function plays a central role in supporting that growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Tax Specialist with 1-2 years of experience to join our Corporate HQ Tax team. You will support international tax operations, assist with compliance and reporting processes, and gain direct exposure to complex cross-border structures and strategic projects, with mentoring from experienced tax professionals every step of the way. If you are eager to build a strong technical foundation in international tax and grow in a fast-paced, international environment, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor tax compliance obligations across the group, identify tax risks and provide assistance with tax audits in coordination with the HQ tax and finance teams, local and regional teams, and external advisors.
  • Assist with transfer pricing compliance activities, including data gathering and drafting support for the preparation of the Master File and Local File, monitoring intercompany transactions, and coordinating with local teams and external advisors on the implementation of group transfer pricing policies.
  • Provide research and analytical support on international tax matters, including tax treaty application, withholding taxes, and permanent establishment questions, helping the team build clear, well-documented technical positions.
  • Contribute to Pillar II and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) processes, including data collection and validation, template preparation, and coordination with HQ, local teams, and external service providers.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing group tax reporting at quarterly, year-end, and statutory closing, including data consolidation, reconciliation, and variance analysis. Support tax forecasting and budget tracking across the group.
  • Support the Spanish tax compliance cycle, including assistance with corporate income tax returns, prepayments, and other periodic filing obligations.
  • Support M&A and restructuring projects by gathering and organising data, drafting summaries, coordinating due diligence requests, and following up on post-deal action items.
  • Contribute to process improvement and digital transformation initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, supporting the rollout of automation tools, and helping maintain internal tax databases, trackers, and reporting templates.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; a Master's in Tax is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in international tax, transfer pricing, or corporate tax, gained in a leading tax advisory / law firm or multinational group.
  • Strong understanding of corporate tax principles, international tax concepts, and transfer pricing fundamentals, with a genuine interest in deepening technical expertise.
Technical & Professional Skills
  • Business-level fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite; exposure to Power BI, SAP, or BPC is a plus.
  • Genuine curiosity about tax technology, automation and process improvement, with an openness to adopting new tools and ways of working.
What We Offer
  • Hybrid working model - 2 to 3 remote days per week
  • Flexible compensation plan including medical insurance, transport, childcare meal benefits and subsidized on-site canteen
  • Direct exposure to complex, real-world international tax projects from the outset, with increasing responsibility over time.
  • Direct mentorship and exposure to experienced Finance and Tax professionals.
  • A collaborative, international, and dynamic working environment
