Merkle, a dentsu company, is hiring a Junior Java Software Engineer to join our Barcelona community. You will design and implement Java backend services in an agile team, focusing on code quality and test-driven development.

You will work across the development lifecycle, cover RESTful services, ORM with SQL, and collaborate with experienced engineers to deliver value to telecommunications and media clients.

Formación

• Degree in software engineering, computer science or engineering telecommunications.
• Experience with Java/J2EE (1+/2+ years).
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and programming.
• Experience in an Agile environment (Scrum).
• Experience developing RESTful Web Services.
• Test-driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-driven Development (BDD).
• Relational databases and SQL (Oracle).
• Knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, iBatis, Maven, GIT, Docker, or Jenkins.

Responsabilidades

• Design and code Java backend applications using a test-driven development approach.
• Focus on code quality, refactoring and testing.
• Be involved in all phases of the development cycle from Analysis to Delivery.
• Deliver a valuable increment to the Business in every sprint.

Qualifications

• Technical background (Degree in software engineering, computer science or engineering telecommunications)
• Experience with Java/J2EE (1+/2+ years)
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and programming an advantage
• Enthusiastic
• You will be a great Team player (teamwork is our main objective)
• You will need a good level of English.
• EU work permission.
• Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum methodology)
• Experience developing RESTful Web Services
• Experience with Test-driven Development (TDD)
• Behavior-driven Development (BDD)
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL (Oracle)
• Any Spring, Hibernate, iBatis, Maven, GIT, Docker, or Jenkins.
