Junior DevOps Engineer

Up to €65,000 p / a

Madrid, Hybrid (3 days on-site)

A growing technology-driven organisation is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support the automation, deployment, and scalability of its core systems. You’ll work across CI / CD pipelines, containerised environments, and Java-based services, helping to improve reliability, operational efficiency, and development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimise CI / CD pipelines for application delivery.
• Support containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline deployments and operational processes.
• Monitor system performance, reliability, and infrastructure health.
• Assist in automating routine tasks and improving platform efficiency.
• Work with Java-based services to ensure smooth integration and release cycles.
• Contribute to environment configuration, version control, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 2+ years of commercial experience in DevOps or software development with a Java background.
• Practical experience with CI / CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Hands‑on knowledge of Docker and container‑based workflows.
• Exposure to Kubernetes in a production or project environment.
• Familiarity working with Java applications within build and deploy processes.
• Strong understanding of Git and version control best practices.
• Solid communication skills and an ability to collaborate across teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python).
• Understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
• Knowledge of monitoring or observability tools.
• Interest in automation, reliability engineering, or scalable systems.
