Job summary

Vanderlande invites a Junior Software Engineer to contribute to AI vision and computer vision features within parcel management and logistics automation. You will work with senior engineers to build, test, validate, and enhance vision-enabled software components.

You will gain hands-on experience with image data, vision frameworks, and AI-based perception, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable product functionality in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or a related field.
• Basic software engineering experience through internships, projects, coursework, or your first professional role.
• Strong interest in computer vision, image processing, AI/ML, or perception-based technologies.
• Experience with or exposure to programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or C++.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn from experienced engineers and continuously develop your technical capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive and curious mindset with a hands-on approach to building and improving software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of AI vision-enabled software components for parcel management systems.
• Support the implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation of computer vision-related product functionality.
• Work with image data, camera inputs, software services, and validation scenarios under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in prototypes, experiments, and product improvement activities related to computer vision and AI-based perception.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product owners, and automation specialists in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Learn how AI vision capabilities are integrated into product software and broader logistics and automation systems.
• Support the validation and optimization of software solutions to ensure reliability and performance in real-world operational environments.
• Contribute ideas and help improve existing products and development processes.
