Job summary

CAE Defence & Security – Indo-Pacific is seeking an experienced IT architect to design and govern enterprise solutions across hybrid environments. You will lead architectural sessions and work with business and IT stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable systems.

The role requires 7+ years in IT architecture, cloud experience (Azure/AWS), and strong governance know‑how. Hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT architecture or related roles.
• Experience developing enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and governance.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.
• Experience with virtualization, networking, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Knowledge of integration patterns including APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of security architecture principles and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD methodologies.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience providing technical leadership and influencing architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards and guidelines.
• Design end‑to‑end technology solutions integrating applications, data, and infrastructure.
• Ensure designs comply with security, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Lead architectural design sessions and provide guidance across project lifecycles.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, PMs, and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and advise on adoption strategies.
• Define integration patterns for hybrid environments (on‑premise and cloud).
• Analyze and optimize system performance, scalability, and availability.
• Support monitoring, resilience, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Incorporate cybersecurity principles into architecture and data privacy standards.
• Communicate risks and recommendations to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines.
• Design end-to-end technology solutions that integrate applications, data, and infrastructure components.
• Ensure architecture designs comply with security, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Lead technical design sessions and provide architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations regarding adoption and implementation strategies.
• Define integration patterns for systems and applications operating across hybrid environments, including on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Analyze and optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
• Support the implementation of monitoring, resilience, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Incorporate Government of Canada cybersecurity principles into architecture designs, where applicable.
• Ensure adherence to data protection, privacy, and compliance standards.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and IT leadership.
• Communicate technical concepts, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT architecture, solution design, systems architecture, or related technology roles.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and governance practices.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with virtualization, networking, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Knowledge of integration technologies and patterns, including APIs, enterprise service bus (ESB), and microservices architectures.
• Knowledge of security architecture principles and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience providing technical leadership and influencing architectural decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience supporting Flight Operations and/or Flight Training environments.
• Experience working within highly regulated industries or government-related environments.
• TOGAF certification.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or Microsoft Azure Architect certification.
• CISSP certification.
• ITIL certification.

Base Pay Range

Our total rewards package includes base pay and benefits, with final compensation determined by experience, skill, location, and internal equity.
