IIS Aragon invites applications for a Senior Technician position in its biomedical laboratory team. The role centers on processing and managing biological samples, data handling in project information systems, and ensuring strict biosafety compliance across study protocols.

The successful candidate will perform analytical techniques (ELISA, biochemistry, nucleic acids work), prepare reagents, and help coordinate logistics and stock management for the project.

Formación

• Possession of the title of Senior Technician in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory.
• One year of professional experience in multipurpose cohort studies and data management.
• Experience with sample handling and observational epidemiological health research.

Responsabilidades

• Processing and management of biological samples, including reception, registration, coding, centrifugation, fractionation and preservation according to protocols.
• Registering and tracking samples through project information systems and communicating incidents.
• Maintaining biological inventories and cryogenics/ultra-freezing equipment.
• Assisting in transport logistics of samples between centers, ensuring pre-analytical conditions.
• Performing analytical techniques (ELISA, clinical biochemistry, nucleic acids extraction/quantification).
• Preparing reagents, calibrators and controls; supporting instrument operation and maintenance.
• Data quality control in project databases and adherence to SOPs and biosafety standards.
• Assisting in stock management and replenishment of consumables.

Required Requirements

• Possession of the title of Senior Technician in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory.
• One year of professional experience in multipurpose cohort studies, collection and management of research data, sample management and support for tasks related to observational epidemiological studies health research.

Main Functions

• Processing and management of biological samples, including reception, registration, coding, centrifugation, fractionation (aliquoting of blood, serum, plasma, urine and other biological fluids) and preservation according to established protocols, under the supervision of the project management.
• Performing the registration and tracking of biological samples through the project's information systems, communicating incidents to the responsible personnel.
• Collaboration in the organization and maintenance of biological inventories, filing systems and control of cryogenics and ultra-freezing equipment.
• Support in the logistics and technical coordination tasks necessary for the transport of samples between the participating centers, ensuring compliance with the pre-analytical conditions established in the study protocols.
• Execution of analytical laboratory techniques included in the project (ELISA, clinical biochemistry, extraction and quantification of nucleic acids or other related techniques), always following standardized work procedures.
• Preparation of reagents, solutions, calibrators and necessary controls, as well as collaborating in the operation, calibration and basic maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
• Performing the introduction, review and quality control of analytical data in the project databases according to established procedures.
• Application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), biosafety standards and current regulations on the protection of personal data and confidentiality.
• Collaboration in the management of stocks, replenishment of consumable material and control of reagents for the project.
