A leading venture capital firm is seeking an experienced Investment Director to identify high-potential technology companies and support fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in a technology company, a strong background in fundraising, and the ability to communicate complex technologies to investors. This remote position requires fluency in both Spanish and English, along with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
We are seeking an Investment Director with a rare combination of scientific acumen and investor‑facing experience. This role plays a key part in two fundamental pillars of the firm’s mission: identifying and supporting high‑potential technology companies, and contributing directly to capital raising and investor relations efforts. The ideal candidate has lived the fundraising process from within a tech company and understands how to communicate technological value to the investment community. You will support both the portfolio and the fund’s own capital strategy.
Contribute actively to fundraising activities by preparing pitch materials, fund performance updates, and strategic documentation.
Participate in meetings with current and prospective investors, communicating the fund’s vision, scientific edge, and portfolio progress.
Help refine messaging and positioning for different investor profiles, ensuring technical credibility and strategic clarity.
Bring operational insight into the fundraising process based on real experience securing capital within a technology‑driven company.
Source, assess, and prioritize investment opportunities aligned with the firm’s deep tech thesis.
Conduct in‑depth technical due diligence on startups, evaluating product maturity, R&D roadmaps, and differentiation.
Work with internal teams to articulate investment rationales and contribute to decision‑making materials.
Support portfolio companies in navigating follow‑on fundraising, including business case refinement and investor narrative development.
Serve as a technical and strategic sounding board for founders and executive teams.
Provide hands‑on guidance in areas such as operational strategy, documentation review, and investor communication.
Stay informed on scientific and industrial developments relevant to the firm’s areas of focus.
Engage in conferences, journals, and expert networks to anticipate emerging technologies.
Contribute to the firm’s thought leadership in the deep tech ecosystem.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology company, with direct involvement in fundraising or investor communication.
Academic background in a technical discipline (engineering, physics, computer science, etc.).
Strong ability to communicate complex technologies to investors and non‑technical audiences.
Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
Proactive, structured, and adaptable in fast‑paced and evolving environments.
Prior exposure to venture capital or investment environments.
Experience leading or supporting Series A or later rounds.
Familiarity with the dynamics of European deep tech ecosystems.
Comfortable interacting with both technical teams and financial stakeholders.
