Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid) seeks an Integration & Test Manager to lead V&V and test strategy for major military aircraft programs. You will drive the complete V&V lifecycle from early development through rig testing, FTI integration, flight campaigns, and certification, coordinating across Design Authority, Test Center, Commercial, and military users.

Qualifications

• Education: Aeronautical/Industrial Engineering degree or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, V&V, aircraft testing, or development programs.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management, time management under pressure, structured problem-solving, adaptable.
• Languages: Fluent Spanish & English; French proficiency is a strong plus.
• In-depth understanding of the V-model lifecycle, V&V processes, test bench definition/operation, FTI, and milestone planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a mature, optimized Simulation & Test Strategy from concept to certification/qualification.
• Define stakeholder requirements, structure development processes based on the Vee-model, and manage compliance matrices.
• Lead the definition, development, commissioning, and execution of test rigs/benches and Flight Test Instrumentation for prototypes.
• Coordinate aircraft test bench integration with manufacturing and manage test execution at ground and flight centers.
• Drive problem-solving and risk mitigation during high-intensity test campaigns to control costs and milestones.
• Act as primary technical contact across multidisciplinary teams including Airbus Commercial, external partners, and military end-users.

Job Description

An opportunity for an Integration & Test Management has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the V&V and Test Strategy Team, leading the overall flight and ground test strategy for key Military Aircraft Programs. Working at the forefront of aircraft development, the team acts as the central interface between the Design Authority, Test Center, Airbus Commercial, and key stakeholders. The jobholder will drive the complete V&V lifecycle from early development through rig testing, FTI integration, flight test campaigns, and final system certification/qualification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a mature, optimized Simulation & Test Strategy (from concept to certification/qualification) in liaison with the Design Authority, Test Center, and key stakeholders.
• Define stakeholder requirements, set up structured development processes based on the Vee-model, and manage compliance matrices for civil certification and military acceptance.
• Lead the definition, development, commissioning, and execution of test rigs/test benches, as well as Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) for prototype data capture.
• Coordinate aircraft test bench integration with manufacturing and manage test execution both on ground test setups and aircraft test centers prior to flight campaigns.
• Drive problem-solving and risk mitigation during high-intensity test campaigns to optimize test execution, control flight hour costs, and adhere to program milestones.
• Act as the primary technical contact and coordinator across multidisciplinary teams, including Airbus Commercial, external industrial partners and military end-users.

• Education: Aeronautical, Industrial Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, V&V, aircraft testing, or development programs. Multi-program experience (especially across commercial and defense platforms) is highly valued.
• Soft skills: Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, high time-management skills under pressure, structured problem-solving mindset, and high adaptability.
• Languages: Fluent Spanish & English (both written & spoken). French proficiency is a strong plus.
• Technical knowledge: In-depth understanding of the V-model development lifecycle, systems V&V processes, test bench definition/operation, Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI), and financial/milestone planning.
• Valuable / Nice to have: Background in Airbus Commercial programs or mixed commercial/military development; experience dealing with military customer interfaces.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently to test locations (including short trips for workshops and extended stays/weeks for flight test campaigns). Common frequency: 1 travel per month.
