AVL Iberica seeks a HV Battery Development Engineer to lead the development of electrified powertrain systems. You will oversee battery system design, development, validation and cross-functional coordination, ensuring performance, quality, cost, and delivery targets across the product lifecycle.

You will shape next-generation EV platforms and collaborate with suppliers, design, test and manufacturing teams.

Formación

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Automotive Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in electrified powertrain / HV battery systems (semi-senior).
• Experience in system design from concept to SOP and cross-functional leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Lead HV battery system and component development (pack, BMS, hardware & software).
• Drive subsystem design and validation (virtual, prototype and serial phases).
• Ensure on-time delivery by following QCD milestones and coordinating with design, test, manufacturing and suppliers.

HV Battery Development Engineer

We are looking for a HV Battery Development Engineerto join our team and lead the development of electrified powertrain systems within a cutting-edge automotive environment.

The role focuses on battery system design, development, validation and cross-functional coordination, ensuring performance, quality, cost and delivery targets across the full product lifecycle.

You will play a key role in shaping next-generation EV platforms, working closely with suppliers, design, test and manufacturing teams.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead High Voltage Battery system and component development(pack, BMS, hardware & software).
• Drivesub-system design & validation(virtual, prototype and serial phases).

• Deployvehicle performance, functionality and reliability targetsinto system requirements.

• Managetechnical issues, root cause analysis and countermeasure definitionduring development and production.

• Coordinatecross-functional activitiesbetween design, test, manufacturing and suppliers.

• Ensurequality standards and continuous improvement, including market issue resolution.

• Supportcost reduction activitiesin collaboration with plant, purchasing and suppliers.

• Follow project milestones and ensureon-time delivery (QCD: Quality, Cost, Delivery).

• Prepare and presenttechnical reports, design notes and project statusto stakeholders.

• Support calibration, dataset preparation and system integration activities.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Automotive Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experiencein electrified powertrain / HV battery systems (semi-senior level).
• Strong experience in system design and development from concept to SOP.
• Proven ability in project coordination and cross-functional leadership.
• Experience working with suppliers and complex automotive environments.
• FluentEnglish (written & spoken).
• High level of autonomy, proactivity and problem-solving mindset.

• Experience in:
  • High Voltage Battery systems (pack, cells, thermal, safety)
  • Root cause analysis & troubleshooting
  • System validation & testing
• Ability to:
  • Translate requirements into robust system design
  • Manage technical documentation & design notes
  • Communicate complex topics to technical & non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical mindset with data-driven decision making

• Location: Barcelona area (NTCE environment)
