ICEYE is seeking an HR Generalist for our Valencia, Spain office to manage local HR operations and employee lifecycle in alignment with global standards. You will handle onboarding, contracts, payroll data audits, employee records in HiBob, and local policy development, collaborating with IT, Finance, and Office Management to deliver an excellent employee experience.

The role requires strong knowledge of Spanish labor law, fluency in English and Spanish, and the ability to balance local needs

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees in Spain via ticketing systems and HR tools.
• Lead onboarding and orientation, including relocation support and paperwork.
• Prepare local employment contracts, registrations and documentation.
• Manage local HR providers and vendors for benefits and recruitment.
• Handle offboarding and legal exit procedures.
• Audit payroll-related data with the local payroll vendor and HRIS.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HiBob and ensure data privacy compliance.
• Develop and implement local HR policies and an employee handbook.
• Identify opportunities to automate local HR tasks with Global HR Operations.
• Support wellbeing, performance management, and L&D initiatives.
• Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership.

Why This Role Matters

As an HR Generalist, you are a key member of ICEYE’s local subsidiary in Spain and part of our globally distributed HR team, responsible for ensuring a seamless and positive employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle for ICEYErs in Valencia.

You are the face of HR for our local office and the "1st Line of Defence" for all country-specific people matters.

While our Global HR Operations team (the "2nd Line of Defence") designs global frameworks, tools, and data standards, you are responsible for the local tailoring and practical execution of these standards.

You will handle high-touch, individual cases that require solid knowledge of Spanish labor law and office culture. You bridge the gap between global ICEYE standards and local needs, collaborating closely with the local CEO and departments like IT, Finance, and Office Management to drive operational excellence and employee satisfaction.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees in Spain via our ticketing system or other dedicated tools, addressing a wide range of HR inquiries and issues related to benefits, policies, and employee lifecycle events, providing timely and accurate responses in alignment with our global standards.
• Lead new joiner onboarding and orientation, including relocation support and country-specific paperwork, ensuring a smooth transition into ICEYE.
• Handle individual cases for onboarding and offboarding, including the preparation of local employment contracts, registrations, and country-specific documentation.
• Manage local third-party HR providers, including benefit brokers and vendors, to effectively address employee needs.
• Manage the local practicalities of offboarding to ensure all legal requirements and exit procedures are met.
• Enter and audit payroll-related data in the HRIS, collaborating with internal teams and the local payroll vendor to support accurate local processing.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HiBob and other relevant systems, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with local and global data privacy regulations.
• Support the development, communication, and implementation of local HR policies, procedures, and programs, including the employee handbook and guides.
• Identify opportunities to automate local HR tasks in collaboration with the Global HR Operations team, ensuring global “ways of working” meet Spanish legal standards whilst preserving ICEYE’s core culture.
• Provide local logistics and individual support for global HR initiatives such as Wellbeing, Performance Management, and L&D.
• Assist in planning and executing employee engagement initiatives and culture programs.
• Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership (turnover, headcount, absence rates, etc.)

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with 3-4 years of experience in a generalist HR or people role.
• Strong working knowledge of Spanish labor law, local benefits, and market HR best practices, with a track record of creating compliant HR policy documentation and internal knowledge base pages.
• A “hands‑on” approach with high attention to detail in contract management and local onboarding experience, and the management of local third-party providers (e.g., benefit brokers).
• Exceptional communication skills in Spanish and English, with the ability to bridge the gap between global standards and local needs, influencing both local leadership and the global HR team.
• Strong analytical skills and high emotional intelligence to act as the “1st Line of Defence,” handling sensitive “individual case” employee relations with the wisdom to **escalate** complex issues to the Global HR Operations team.
• Comfort using HRIS (HiBob would be amazing!), utilizing data to audit local payroll and maintain “source of truth” records.
• A proactive and service-oriented mindset and the ability to remain effective in a fast-scaling environment, adapting global policies to local contexts without losing speed.
