Job summary

Lumyn LLC is building a new prediction market with a well-known exchange. We are seeking a Head of Engineering to own the architecture of the matching engine and market data, write production code, and lead a growing team from the first line of code.

You will set latency targets, ensure uptime, hire and guide engineers, and collaborate with founders on market design, risk and settlement. This stealth project offers a founding seat with meaningful equity.

Qualifications

• Senior engineer or engineering lead from an HFT firm or exchange.
• Built or run a matching engine, OMS or pricing system in production.
• Proficient in low-latency languages: C++, Rust or Java.
• Experience with exchange connectivity and market data (FIX or binary protocols).
• Leadership experience or readiness to step up.

Lumyn have partnered with a well known exchange who are building a new prediction market. They need a Head of Engineering to build and manage the exchange from the first line of code.

The role

• Own the architecture of the matching engine and market data.
• Write production code yourself whilst managing a team of engineers
• Set latency and uptime targets for the platform and hit them.
• Hire and lead the engineering team as it grows.
• Work with the founders on market design, risk and settlement.

What they’re looking for

• Senior engineer or engineering lead from an HFT firm or an exchange.
• You’ve built or run a matching engine, order management or pricing system in production.
• Low-latency C++, Rust or Java.
• Exchange connectivity and market data, including FIX or binary protocols.
• You’ve led engineers before, or you’re ready to step up.
• Prediction market or crypto experience helps. It isn’t required.
