THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

We are looking for a Global FI Sales Manager based out of Madrid.

The successful candidate will be in charge of covering Santander’s Platinum bank relationships with the aim to grow these by executing our growth strategy within Cash Management and Trade & Working Capital solutions, becoming a key member of an existing and highly motivated diverse sales team.

To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

Commercial Origination & Client Engagement
  • Identify and originate new cash management and transaction banking mandates within the NBFI portfolio, including asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, PSPs, and Fintech companies
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with C‑suite and Treasury executives of NBFI clients, acting as the primary contact for all transaction banking needs.
  • Define and implement the global sales strategy for Cash Management and Trade & Working Capital solutions in alignment with the teams’ growth objectives
  • Lead the origination effort by identifying new opportunities, contributing to client proposals, RFPs and leading strategic discussions.
  • Advise clients and structure tailored financial solutions across the transaction banking product suite, which may include cash and liquidity management, and trade and working capital services.
  • Represent the bank in key client meetings, industry conferences, and global forums to strengthen market positioning.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Cash and Trade local & global product teams within GTB as well as with the different FIG teams under Banking & Corporate Finance
  • Lead cross‑border deal teams and coordinate global execution for Cash & Trade Finance transactions
  • Work closely with Financial Control, Risk, Legal and Compliance to ensure seamless execution and governance

Professional Experience
  • Over 6 years of experience in sales within the corporate banking world (Required)
  • Ideally proven experience in the GTB product suite (Preferred)
  • NBFI Sector Knowledge: Deep understanding of the NBFI sector dynamics, including the specific needs and regulatory landscape of asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, PSPs, and Fintech companies (Required)
  • Product Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of transaction banking products, such as payment systems, liquidity products, cash management and trade finance solutions. (Required)
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree (Required)
Languages
  • Fluency in English (Required) and in Spanish (Preferred)
Hard Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of GTB products (Required)
Soft Skills
  • Strong Sales & Relationship management skills (Required)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and global clients (Required)
