What you’ll do

We are looking for a Geneal Ledger Accountant to join the team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Finance you’ll support the Finance department on the financial operations of the hotel while managing hotel assets and ensuring a centralized accounting environment.

  • Maintains and consolidates all financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Ensures all assets are duly capitalized.
  • Ensures all necessary adjustments are done before month end.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Implement internal controls to prevent imbalances and ensure company procedures are in place.
  • Work closely with accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure timely postings.
  • Maintain Contract Log.
  • Resolve queries from suppliers.
  • Check vouchers prepare payments and forward to FC for authorization.
  • Perform or assist in the performance of month‑end closing. Input general ledger entries and journal vouchers as required. Ensure that appropriate supporting information is collated and submitted.
  • Perform or assist in performing balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations and oversee the process of credit extension and collection of overdue accounts.
  • Oversee internal hotel audits and report anomalies to management team and ensuring that audit policies and procedures (Control Self‑Assessment) are being followed.
  • Prepare daily weekly and monthly reports in accordance with reporting calendars ensuring that all reports are submitted on a timely basis.
  • Conduct necessary procedures to meet all legal requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality business administration or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a hotel’s accounting department.
  • Ability to multitask work in a fast‑paced environment and have a high‑level attention to detail.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
