Job summary

Q-tech, a German company and global leader in industrial automation and education, seeks a Frontend Engineer to join the Barcelona hub. You will work with modern stacks (React, TypeScript, Modern.js) in an agile environment to enhance a 55-country eCommerce platform.

Responsibilities include building decentralized frontend modules, implementing tests with Rstest and Playwright, and migrating legacy code. The role offers hybrid work (3 days from home) and English as the working language.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, state management, TypeScript, Sass and Git (GitLab).
• Good written and spoken English (working language), including technical discussions.
• Independent, structured and proactive with strong communication in an international team.
• Commitment to high-quality code and great user experiences.
• Experience with Modern.js (or similar React meta-frameworks), OpenAPI, CI/CD, Docker and Module Federation is a plus.

• Develop and maintain the front end of an enterprise-scale global eCommerce platform serving 55+ countries.
• Build and maintain decentralized frontend modules within a micro-frontend architecture powered by Module Federation and Modern.js.
• Write tests and documentation to maintain code quality, including unit tests with Rstest and E2E QA with SonarQube.
• Maintain and improve legacy code during migration from older React/Webpack to jQuery-era code.
• Coordinate development with stakeholders, Operations and QA teams.
• Collaborate with a distributed agile team across Spain, Germany and Lithuania.

At Q-tech, a German company that is a global leader in industrial automation and technical education. With a presence in over 60 countries, they run a B2B e-commerce platform offering 33,000+ products and 15,000 tailor-made solutions. About 90% of their sales go through this platform. They’re now in a key phase of improving, migrating and optimizing it. Their Barcelona hub has around 200 people.

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join the team behind this platform. You’ll work with a modern stack (Modern.js, Module Federation, TypeScript, Nx, Rstest, Playwright) in an agile, technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the front end of an enterprise-scale global eCommerce platform that supports the online catalog and processes customer transactions in more than 55 countries.
• Build and maintain decentralized frontend modules within a micro-frontend architecture powered by Module Federation and Modern.js.
• Write tests and documentation to keep code quality high, including unit tests with Rstest and end-to-end quality assurance with SonarQube.
• Maintain and improve legacy code during the transition phase, from older React/Webpack implementations to jQuery-era code.
• Coordinate development work with stakeholders, a dedicated Operations team and a QA team.
• Work with a distributed agile team across Spain, Germany and Lithuania.
