A leading tech company in Madrid is seeking a skilled software developer to join their SEM/RESOPS team. Your main tasks will involve developing front-end applications using Python and Angular, collaborating with users, and enhancing system automation. Candidates should have at least 4 years of development experience with a strong background in DevOps practices. Knowledge of energy markets in Iberia is a plus.
ENGIE’s Supply & Energy Management (SEM) organization manages short-term and renewable operations in Iberia.
Within the IT Short Term and RESOPS Support (STARS) team, the goal is to develop and maintain digital solutions that automate and optimize energy operations such as asset optimization (CCGTs, renewables, pumped storage), ancillary services, and intraday trading.
You will join a multidisciplinary team working in DevOps mode, collaborating with business users to deliver scalable, efficient front-end solutions aligned with ENGIE’s digital transformation strategy.
Main Responsibilities & Key Activities
Collaborate with SEM/RESOPS users to analyze existing processes, data flows, and business requirements.
Develop and maintain front-end applications and services using Python and Angular within a microservices-based environment.
Participate in system design, architecture, and implementation following best coding and DevOps practices.
Support application maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in production environments.
Integrate applications with cloud services (Azure / AWS S3) and ensure deployment through CI/CD pipelines.
Work collaboratively with the STARS IT team to enhance automation and operational efficiency.
Experience Required
Minimum 4 years in software development.
Proven experience in Python (advanced level required).
Experience in front-end development with Angular or similar frameworks.
Background in DevOps environments with CI/CD and cloud integration.
Knowledge of energy markets in Iberia is a strong plus.
Education
Degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
