AECOM Spain is seeking a Fire & Risk Engineer to define and deliver advanced fire safety solutions across buildings and industrial facilities. You will work within a dynamic team to develop fire protection designs and perform risk assessments throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, reviewing submittals, sizing systems, and ensuring compliance with NFPA, EN/BS, and IFC/IBC codes. Travel and client interaction may be involved.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Technical background, minimum 3 years related Fire Protection Design Engineering.
• Experience with international and local codes/standards (NFPA, IFC/IBC, EN/BS, FM Global) and performance-based design frameworks.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and review fire protection designs across all project phases (concept, basic, detailed).
• Perform fire risk assessments and support fire engineering studies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and provide fire protection expertise.
• Review contractor and vendor submissions for code compliance.
• Design and specify passive fire protection systems.
• Review architectural/structural drawings for fire compartmentation compliance.
• Design and review active fire protection systems and detection/alarms.
• Prepare detection layouts, cause-and-effect matrices, and system narratives.
• Coordinate detection strategies for high-risk environments.
• Support system testing, commissioning and acceptance activities.
