Verdian is seeking a Modeler to join the Finance Team to build analytical models for investment, financing and commercial decisions across Solar PV, Wind, BESS and hybrids in Europe.

The role focuses on forecasting revenues, analyzing PPAs, project economics and risk scenarios, with advanced Excel/VBA and experience in energy markets. 3–5 years’ experience preferred.

Formación

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field is required.
• 3–5 years’ experience in energy/renewables modelling or consulting.
• Strong financial modelling and Excel/VBA skills.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain revenue, market and project-finance models.
• Forecast merchant revenues and analyse PPAs, tolling, floors and day-ahead deals.
• Model and optimise BESS and balancing-market revenues.
• Assess IRR, NPV, cash flows, debt sizing and financing assumptions.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses on power prices and regs.
• Translate modelling results into actionable recommendations.

Role purpose:

The Modeler, part of the Finance Team will focus on building the analytical models that underpin Verdian’s investment, financing and commercial decisions across Solar PV, Wind, BESS and hybrid assets across Europe.

Core responsibilities:

• Build and maintain revenue, market and project-finance models.
• Forecast merchant revenues and analyse structures such as PPAs, tolling, floors, day-ahead agreements, capacity markets and ancillary services.
• Model and optimise standalone and co-located BESS, including arbitrage and balancing-market revenues.
• Assess project economics through IRR, NPV, cash flows, debt sizing and financing assumptions.
• Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis, including power prices, capture prices, cannibalisation and regulatory changes.
• Support investment committees, transactions, commercial negotiations and portfolio planning.
• Translate complex modelling into clear recommendations for management and shareholders.
• Master´s degree: Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Finance or similar.
• 3–5 years’ of relevant experience, particularly in energy/renewables modelling, power markets or consulting.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with a good command of VBA
• Knowledge of project finance and renewable-energy valuation.
• Experience with BESS and ancillary-service markets is particularly valuable
• Knowledge of Aurora, Baringa, Chronos or comparable tools are a plus.
