Opdenergy in Sevilla seeks a Financial Modeller to join its growing renewable energy team. You will build HoldCo-level models for multiple SPVs and geographies, lead NAV financing modeling, and develop BESS/portfolio-level project finance analyses.

The role requires 3-4+ years in financial modeling for IPPs or project finance, advanced Excel, and fluency in English. The position offers hybrid work and global exposure with clear growth opportunities.

Formación

• 3-4+ years of experience in financial modeling within renewable energy IPPs, infra funds, or investment banking.
• Hands-on experience in HoldCo and NAV financing models and U.S. Tax Equity structures.
• Advanced Excel proficiency with complex modeling and auditing capabilities.
• Solid understanding of Project Finance vs HoldCo Finance, DSCR/NPV/IRR metrics, and cash waterfalls.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and manage HoldCo-level financial models across multiple SPVs, technologies, and geographies.
• Lead NAV Financing modeling, including cash waterfalls, covenants, dividends, leverage optimization, and stress testing.
• Build and maintain project and portfolio-level models for BESS, solar, and wind assets at various stages.
• Model BESS economics including revenue stacking, degradation, and merchant exposure.
• Structure and analyze U.S. Tax Equity transactions (Partnership Flip, Sale-Leaseback, ITC/PTC monetization).
• Perform scenario analysis, sensitivities, and downside cases at multiple levels.
• Provide financial support for M&A, platform acquisitions, refinancings, and portfolio leverage initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders; prepare and present analyses to Senior Management.

Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 21 years of experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages, and operates high quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2,6 GW (1,3 operational and + 1,3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW.

We are currently looking for a Financial Modeller, with experience in advanced financial modeling at HoldCo level, NAV Financing, and U.S. Tax Equity structures, based in Sevilla.

What will you help with?

• Develop and manage integrated HoldCo-level financial models, incorporating multiple SPVs, technologies, and geographies.
• Lead NAV Financing modeling, including cash waterfalls, covenants, dividend upstream, leverage optimization, and stress testing.
• Build and maintain project and portfolio-level models for BESS (stand-alone and hybrid), solar, and wind assets across greenfield, brownfield, and operating stages.
• Model BESS-specific economics, including revenue stacking, degradation, and merchant exposure.
• Structure and analyze U.S. Tax Equity transactions (Partnership Flip, Sale-Leaseback, Inverted Lease, ITC/PTC monetization).
• Perform scenario analysis, sensitivities, and downside cases at project, portfolio, and HoldCo level.
• Provide financial support to M&A, platform acquisitions, refinancings, and portfolio leverage initiatives.
• Support the entry of financial partners and tax equity investors, including transaction modeling and documentation support.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Development, M&A, Asset Management) and external stakeholders (banks, investors, advisors).
• Prepare and present financial analyses and reports to Senior Management and Fund Shareholders.

Who you are?

• 3-4+ years of experience in financial modeling within renewable energy IPPs, infrastructure/energy funds, or investment banking / project finance.
• Proven hands-on experience in HoldCo and NAV financing models, renewable assets (BESS, solar, wind), greenfield and brownfield projects, and U.S. Tax Equity structures.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, with strong capabilities in complex model structuring and auditing.
• Solid understanding of Project Finance vs. HoldCo Finance, key financial metrics (IRR, NPV, DSCR, LLCR), and cash waterfalls and covenant packages.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
• Experience with international, multi-technology renewable energy portfolios.
• Knowledge of corporate PPAs, merchant exposure, and capacity/ancillary service markets (especially for BESS).
• Experience using Python, VBA, Power BI, or financial automation tools.
