StarCharge is seeking an experienced field engineer to lead on-site commissioning, SAT, and customer handover for utility-scale BESS projects. You will diagnose faults, perform regular maintenance, and provide 24/7 emergency support, ensuring adherence to EU grid standards and safety practices.

Travel within Europe is required. The role requires 3+ years in BESS/PV+storage or HV substations, knowledge of BESS architecture, and safety certifications.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years hands-on with utility-scale BESS, PV+storage, or HV substations
• Strong understanding of BESS architecture: cells/modules/racks, BMS, PCS, EMS
• Familiar with EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4110/4120, G99; valid HV/MV switching authorization (10 kV+).
• On-safety certifications: Heights, First Aid, IOSH/NFPA 70E

Responsabilidades

• Lead on-site commissioning, SAT, and customer handover for utility-scale BESS projects
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on battery systems, PCS, BMS, EMS, MV/HV switchgear, transformers
• Provide 24/7 first-line emergency response and remote technical support during incidents
• Diagnose faults via BMS logs, SCADA/EMS data, and field measurements; write incident reports
• Deliver operator and maintenance training to customers and partners
• Ensure compliance with EU/local standards and regulations
• Coordinate with EPCs, DSOs/TSOs, fire authorities during outages
• Prepare service reports, risk assessments, and as-built documentation (in English)
• Manage warranty claims, spare-parts forecasting, and service cost against SLA
• Contribute to continuous improvement of service procedures across Europe

Descripción del empleo

1. 1. Lead on-site commissioning, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and customer handover of utility-scale BESS projects；
2. 2. Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on battery systems (LFP / NMC), Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Battery Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), MV/HV switchgear, transformers, and auxiliary subsystems；
3. 3. Provide 24/7 first-line emergency response and remote technical support during critical incidents; lead on-site recovery actions；
4. 4. Diagnose faults using BMS logs, SCADA / EMS trend data, and field measurements; perform structured root-cause analysis and write incident reports；
5. 5. Deliver operator and maintenance training to customers, O&M partners, and local contractors；
6. 6. Ensure all work complies with EU and local standards: IEC 62619, IEC 62933, EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4110 / 4120, G99, CE, and local fire codes (VdS / NFPA 855 equivalent)；
7. 7. Coordinate with EPCs, DSOs / TSOs, fire authorities, and third-party service providers during planned and unplanned outages；
8. 8. Prepare service reports, method statements, risk assessments, and as-built documentation in English；
9. 9. Manage warranty claims, spare-parts forecasting, and service cost control against SLA；
10. 10. Contribute to continuous improvement of service procedures, tooling, and safety practices across the European team；

Required Qualifications

1. 1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or related discipline；
2. 2. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with utility-scale BESS, PV+storage hybrid plants, or HV substations；
3. 3. Strong understanding of BESS architecture: cells / modules / racks, BMS, PCS, EMS, MV transformers, and protection systems；
4. 4. Familiarity with European grid codes and grid-connection standards (EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4110 / 4120, G99, or equivalents)； Valid HV / MV switching authorization - minimum 10 kV, ideally 33 kV or above；
5. 5.Working at Heights, First Aid, and IOSH / NFPA 70E or equivalent safety certifications；
6. 6.proficiency in German, Polish, or Spanish is a strong plus. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality client support, along with the flexibility to undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned；
7. 7.Legal right to work in the EU or UK and ability to travel freely within the Schengen area；
8. 8.Willingness to be on-call and to travel at short notice；
