Job summary

Bio-Techne seeks an experienced field engineer to service protein analysis instrumentation across Spain, Portugal and parts of Europe. The role combines onsite and remote support with extensive travel, collaborating with sales and field applications teams.

You will diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical instruments in laboratory environments, prepare samples for testing, and manage service reports and travel claims. Fluent Spanish and English are required; up to 90% travel.

Qualifications

• Fluent Business Spanish and English.
• BA or MSc in engineering/science or 5 years hi-tech experience.
• Minimum 5 years in industrial/scientific sector, preferably in a similar industry.
• PC repair skills and strong computer skills (Windows and Microsoft products).
• Able to travel as necessary - Travel 90%.

Responsibilities

• Deliver onsite customer facing and home-based remote support to diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical instruments.
• Prepare samples for instrument testing and perform basic lab tasks.
• Schedule, submit service reports, and manage travel expense claims.
• Support sales and field applications teams remotely and onsite to resolve customer issues.

Pay Range: €37,900 - €60,720

Placement within the salary range will vary depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.

Position Objective

Experienced field engineer to service revolutionary protein analysis instrumentation. The successful candidate will be a key member of a field team responsible for maintaining instruments and supporting customers to a high standard across Spain, Portugal and infrequent in Europe.

Essential Duties & Responsibilitie s

Customer and Instrument support

Deliver onsite customer facing and Home-based remote support to diagnose and independently repair complex electro-mechanical scientific instruments in a laboratory environment. Ability to prepare samples for instrument testing as required, basic laboratory skills essential. Field based role with extensive daily travel.

Schedule, Administration and Inventory management

Works independently with minimal direct supervision. Manage and schedule customer appointments till completion and on occasion the creation of detailed technical paperwork and support documents. Timely submission of service reports to clients and monthly expense / travel claims. Management of personal inventory for successful repairs and field support.

Support of sales and field applications team

Work collaboratively to support the sales team with pre and post sales enquiries and tasks. Support the field applications team both remotely and onsite to ensure successful resolution of complex customer situations and issues.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Fluent Business Spanish and English
• BA, Masters in an engineering / science field or 5 years' experience in hi-tech sector
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial / scientific sector, preferably in a similar industry
• Personal Computer repair skills and strong computer skills set, (Windows and Microsoft products)
• Ability to travel as necessary - Travel 90%
