Job summary

UNRWA is seeking a Business Development Officer to support livelihood programs for Palestine refugees. The role covers outreach, intake for small business grants, and field verification to ensure viable and sustainable benefits.

You will assess market demand, help beneficiaries develop simple business plans, monitor progress, and coach on financial management and customer relations. Fluency in English, Arabic, and French is required.

• Strong field coordination and community engagement skills.
• Ability to assess small business feasibility and market relevance.
• Understanding of vulnerability, protection, gender, and inclusion.
• Strong documentation, verification, and reporting skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Practical understanding of livelihoods, small grants, TVET, microfinance, or early recovery programming.

Responsibilities

• Support lifecycle of livelihood programs including outreach, registration, and intake for small business grants and toolkits.
• Screen applications against eligibility criteria and assist in developing simple business plans.
• Conduct field verification with site visits and documentation review to support selection Committees.
• Verify use of assistance, monitor progress, and provide basic coaching on financial management and customer relations.
• Coordinate referrals to UNRWA services, maintain beneficiary files, and report risks.
• Ensure integration of gender equality, disability inclusion, and protection principles in all activities.
