Amentum is seeking a Facilities Investment Manager to oversee the facilities investment program for a unique US Navy contract on Diego Garcia. You will manage maintenance, improvements, and project delivery while coordinating with government representatives and contractors.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and provide regular performance reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as Facilities Manager or in a closely related occupation managing a multi-disciplinary environment comparable in scope to the requirements of this role.
  • Strong leadership and management experience with a track record of effectively managing teams and projects in a complex environment.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute facilities investment programs to meet operational, financial, and strategic goals.
  • Knowledge of best practices in facilities management, maintenance, and investment strategies, including cost control and project management expertise.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills to develop and implement improvements and address challenges effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with clients and team members at all levels.
  • Ability to quickly respond to contingencies and emergencies, maintaining availability within designated timelines.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to obtain country‑specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance for the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively solve problems through leadership and collaboration to maintain performance metrics.
  • Be readily available during normal Government working hours to address day-to-day operational issues and provide oversight of program activities.
  • Respond to contingencies or emergency situations, ensuring on-site availability within two hours when required.
  • Oversee adherence to Government standards, policies, and contract requirements related to facilities management.
  • Prepare and deliver management reports on program performance, status updates, and improvement recommendations.

Amentum is seeking aFacilities Investment Managerto support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. TheFacilities Investment Manageris responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the facilities investment program to ensure efficient operation, maintenance, and development of facilities in accordance with the contract requirements. This role requires leadership, multi-disciplinary management experience, and comprehensive knowledge to meet operational needs and respond effectively during emergencies.

Job Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher inFacility Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience managing facilities in an austereOCONUS (Outside the Continental United States)environment with a multi‑national workforce.
  • Certification in facilities management or project management, such asCertified Facility Manager (CFM)orProject Management Professional (PMP).
  • Familiarity with Navy or Department of Defense facilities management practices, standards, and protocols.
  • Experience managing large‑scale facilities investment programs for Government or military clients.
  • Valid country driver’s license.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
