Centro de Idiomas Macarena, a well-established language school in Seville, seeks an experienced English teacher to start immediately for the 2026–2027 academic year. The role covers 25.5 paid hours per week, including about 11 teaching hours, with remaining time for preparation, support and admin tasks.

About Us

Centro de Idiomas Macarena is a well-established, family-run language school in Seville, teaching English since 1983. With two centres in the city, we offer a friendly, supportive working environment where teachers feel valued.

The Position

We are looking for an experienced English teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 academic year, with an immediate start.

• 25,5 paid hours per week, initially including approximately 11 teaching hours with students. The remaining hours will be dedicated to lesson preparation, academic support and administrative tasks until more classes become available.
• Initial working schedule: Monday to Friday, 15:30 - 20:30, with a weekly teachers' meeting, usually held on Friday mornings.
• Teaching small groups of children, teenagers or adults, depending on experience.
• As new classes become available, teaching hours will gradually replace other duties within the contracted schedule.

Flexibility and Opportunities

We are looking for a flexible and committed teacher who is open to adapting their schedule as new courses become available, including morning or later evening classes (until 22:00).

There may also be opportunities to increase contracted hours and salary as the school grows.

Applicants must already be living in Seville or the surrounding area and be available to start immediately.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Currently living in Seville or the surrounding area.
• Available to start immediately.
• Excellent command of English (C2 or equivalent).
• TEFL or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching English as a foreign language, preferably in a language school.
• Previous experience teaching at least one of the following age groups: children, teenagers or adults.
• Good classroom management and communication skills.
• A positive, reliable and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
• Professional references.
• Legal right to work in Spain.

Desirable

• Experience preparing students for Cambridge English examinations.
• Experience conducting English placement tests and assessing students' levels.
• Flexibility to adapt working hours as new courses become available, including morning or later evening classes (until 22:00).

Salary and Benefits

From €1,160 / month (gross)

£979 / $1,304

25.5 paid hrs/week (11 teaching hrs initially)

WHAT WE OFFER

• Initial contract of 25.5 paid hours per week, with approximately 11 teaching hours with students, with remaining hours dedicated to academic support and administrative tasks until new classes become available.
• Stable monthly salary of 1160€ gross, with opportunities to increase contracted hours and salary as new courses become available.
• Spanish employment contract with full Social Security contributions.
• Paid school holidays during the contracted period, including approximately two weeks at Christmas, one week at Easter, several days during Seville's Feria and additional public holidays.
• Regular monthly salary during these holiday periods, without reductions for scheduled school closures.
