Formación

Job Description

A vacancy for an ESCAN Radar & DASS System Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe. The successful applicant will join the Eurofighter Electronic Warfare and Radar Team and will take over mainly the task of supporting and capability build‑up on Task Based Mode (TBM) ESCAN Radar. Apart from this, he/she will take over several tasks within the team depending on the program needs: equipment management and documentation reviews, support to national activities and clearances, continuous learning on the systems and their future upgrades, Spanish customer consultancy. The successful applicant will be seconded during 1.5 year in Manching as part of the Radar EDR (Equipment Design Responsible) Team. We usually work within an international setting with stakeholders in various countries. As a team member you will work with highly complex systems and challenging environments.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Radar Equipment Team, a joint team comprising of Airbus and supplier representatives.
  • Support other system equipment engineering tasks within our team.
  • Support the Mk1 Radar Equipment Development, Engineering and Integration activities, focused on TBM development.
  • Review and approval of supplier documentation.
  • Identify and support the resolution of equipment, integration, certification and quality issues.
  • Liaison with and coordination of other stakeholders.
  • Support our team in equipment engineering activities.
  • Resolve technical inquiries from the military customer, the SUZ, the supplier or other Eurofighter Partner Companies.
  • Regular business trips to support meetings at the supplier’s premises in Ulm.
  • Travel on business (mainly domestic) is assumed. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
Skills
  • Degree (Bachelor / Master) in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace or similar.
  • More than 5 years of experience working in an engineering department.
  • Experience with at least one of the following systems:
    • Avionic Systems
    • Airborne sensors (e.g. Radar, IFF, FLIR)
    • Airborne Defensive Aids systems
    • Communication systems and data links
    • Electronic Warfare systems in general
  • Experience in writing technical documentation (e.g. reports).
  • Team working spirit.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to work temporarily at the aircraft and/or at the (sub) system integration rig (either in Spain or abroad).
  • Capability to execute activities under your own responsibility.
  • Security clearance up to NATO SECRET required.
  • Good knowledge in equipment engineering, preferably Eurofighter processes.
  • Good system & requirements engineering know‑how.
  • Knowledge of the aeronautic / space / defence industry would be an advantage.
  • Experience and know‑how about radar is desirable.
  • Cooperative, self‑empowered and independent ways of working.
  • Good communication skills and openness for personal development and feedback.
  • Capability to work as part of an international team and in a multinational project environment.
  • Negotiation level of English is required.
