A leading company in the insurance sector is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their Madrid office. As part of the Conversion team, you will drive technical strategies and support a team of engineers in developing solutions that enhance motor insurance. The ideal candidate will bring over 5 years of development experience, 2 years in a leadership role, and strong technical acumen, particularly in cloud services like AWS.

To help fuel that growth, we need an Engineering Manager to join our Spain Conversionteam .

This team is the beating heart of Prima. You’ll be joining over 300 engineers across software development, infrastructure, operations and security. Fueled by curiosity, experimentation and collaboration, you’ll help deliver scalable, impactful solutions that shape the future of insurance.

What You’ll Do

• Define and drive the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Take ownership of architectural decisions, overseeing implementation while ensuring maintainability, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Support the development team in delivering high-impact initiatives on time.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, while maintaining an engaging and motivating work environment.

What We’re Looking For

• A strong technical background with 5+ years of hands-on development experience2+ years in a leadership role, managing engineering teams, overseeing development processes, and driving technical decisions.
• Experience in customer facing systems is desiredHands-on experience with cloud services and infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Ability to shape and adapt team processes and ways of working to align with the team needsProven ability to mentor engineers by providing technical guidance, fostering critical thinking, and enhancing decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with non-technical stakeholders and external business partners.
• Proven ability to lead initiatives from inception to successful delivery, collecting business requirements and converting them into actionable technical ones.

• Experience with Domain-Driven Design and event-driven architectures.
• Experience in designing and implementing microservices within large-scale ecosystems.
