A leading multinational corporation is seeking an Energy Project Manager to coordinate projects in energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have a university degree in engineering, fluency in Spanish and English, and at least 6 years of experience in energy markets. Responsibilities include collaborating with various stakeholders, assessing regulatory frameworks, and supporting the rollout of energy solutions across multiple countries. This role is essential for driving efficiency and innovation within energy services.

Formación

  • Minimum of 6 years experience in energy markets with utilities or specialized consultancies.
  • International experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in energy efficiency and flexibility projects is essential.

THE SKEYE, an executive search and headhunting consultancy, is currently searching on behalf of a leading publicly listed multinational company, part of the IBEX 35 a ENERGY PROJECT MANAGER.

Project Manager coordinating projects in the Energy Solutions Center of Excellence (CoE) and Energy Market Lead at the company :

The main responsibilities of the CoE are :
  • Company energy markets and technology lead : Centralizing CoE experts in one team and sharing best practices and lessons learned across the organization
  • Support alignment of energy initiatives with utilities, MNOs, and distributors.
  • Assess technical feasibility and regulatory frameworks to enable energy solutions in the different markets where company operates.
  • Homologate, test technology and launch together with the Purchase department tenders for technology, strengthening supplier negotiation power by unifying technical and commercial requirements.
  • Enable scalable and repeatable deployment (standard solutions) of technology across countries, supporting business case development and prioritize rollout across markets
Main Responsibilities :
  • Coordinate the different projects and initiatives that company has in Energy solutions.
  • Assess regulatory frameworks and energy market revenues (from day-ahead and intra-day markets, ancillary services, capacity markets, local congestion markets, etc.) to enable energy solutions in the different countries where company operates.
  • A company Energy Market Lead, create centralized knowledge to be spread across the different countries about energy markets.
  • Support alignment of energy initiatives with utilities, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and regulators.
  • In collaboration with the, Regulatory team, engage with telecommunications and energy regulators to build awareness and understanding of our business.

Below are specified, as example, the tasks to be carried out for the different services. This is not an exhaustive list, but it includes some examples.

Batteries for back up
  • Manage framework agreements with homologated vendors (batteries, power systems, PV, etc.), together with Legal and technical support, coordinate auctions to aggregate volumes and secure cost efficiencies across countries
  • Support the development of business plans and commercial proposals for backup batteries through the different countries where company operates.
Batteries for Grid Services
  • Lead pilot projects to validate technical and economic feasibility with different EU stakeholders such as utilities, aggregators and vendors.
  • Coordinate with Sales the engagement of utilities for grid balancing services
  • Monitor regulatory and market developments in company Countries and identify and engage strategic partners in priority markets for grid service initiatives
Solar PV
  • Contribute to the development of commercial offers and country-specific business plans for PV initiatives
  • Coordination of the initiatives in this field together with the countries involved.
Candidate Profile
  • University Degree in Engineering or similar
  • Spanish & English Fluent
  • At least 6 years of experience energy markets, working for a utility, and Energy Service Company or a specialized consultancy.
  • Previous international experience is highly valued.
  • Relevant experience : energy solutions / energy efficiency projects and flexibility projects (in both generation and demand side).
