Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid) seeks a Space Systems EMC and Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Systems Spain Department. You will specify, analyze and test systems with an EMC focus for satellite platforms and payloads across Telecommunications, Earth Observation, Science and Navigation programs.

The role covers EMC requirements, V&V strategies, supplier design reviews, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure on-cost, on-time delivery.

Formación

• Educated to degree level in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• 5+ years in Space projects, power electronics and EMC design, analysis, development and testing.
• Strong teamwork in multi-disciplinary, multicultural environments.
• Advanced level in English and Spanish.
• Familiarity with ESA ECSS standards and requirements management.

Responsabilidades

• Manage all EMC aspects under System Architect guidance across platforms, payloads, and instruments.
• Elaborate and maintain EMC requirement specs and budgets, including frequency and magnetic budgets.
• Review suppliers' hardware designs and PCBs, providing EMC solutions.
• Define V&V strategies and prepare test specs with verification documentation.
• Support Procurement and Quality with technical follow-ups and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with AIT and other disciplines throughout the product lifecycle.

Space Systems EMC and Electrical Engineer

An opportunity for a Space Systems EMC and Electrical Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the Electrical Systems Spain Department (TSEOE7). In this role, you will work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to specify, analyze, and test systems from an electronic and mainly EMC perspective, contributing to the on-cost, on-time, and on-quality delivery of satellite platforms and payloads (including active antennas) for Telecommunications, Earth Observation, Science, and Navigation programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage all technical aspects related to the EMC area under the coordination of the System Architect, following up on platforms, payloads, and instruments from an EMC perspective.
• Elaborate and maintain technical EMC requirement specifications and budgets, including Frequency analysis, EMC control plans, and CE/CS, RE/RS, RFC, and Magnetic budgets.
• Review suppliers' hardware designs and PCB layouts, supporting EMC-related constraints and providing design, development, and testing solutions.
• Define system verification and validation (V&V) strategies, preparing test specifications and maintaining verification control documentation.
• Support the Procurement and Quality teams with technical follow-ups of subcontracted equipment, risk assessments, and anomaly investigations in NRBs.
• Collaborate closely with AIT and other engineering disciplines (thermal, mechanical, harness) involved in system development throughout the product lifecycle.

Skills

• Education: Educated to degree level in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Experience: Proven experience (5 or more years) in Space projects, power electronics design, and EMC design, analysis, development, and testing.
• Soft skills: Strong teamwork capabilities and close collaboration in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural engineering environments.
• Languages: Advanced level in both English and Spanish.
• Technical knowledge: Requirements management, subcontractor technical management, and experience with ESA standards (ECSSs).
• Valuable / Nice to have: Experience with DOORS (requirements management), LT/PSPICE or MATLAB (electrical analysis), CST or ANSYS (RF analysis), ALTIUM (electrical design), or Python programming.
