PAL Robotics in Barcelona is seeking an Electronics Engineer to advance our robotics platforms. You will design analog and digital circuits, oversee manufacturing releases, and mentor a team of electronics engineers.

The role requires hands-on BLDC motor control experience, CAN/EtherCAT buses, and PCB layouts. You will collaborate across mechanical, software, and firmware teams to deliver production-ready systems.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 4+ years in motor-control design for BLDC applications and power-board design for battery-powered systems.
  • Strong background with motor-control drivers, CAN and EtherCAT buses.
  • Hands-on board layout, bring-up, and debugging of multilayer PCBs.
  • Proven experience with EMI/EMC challenges, reliability-focused design, and manufacturability.

Responsabilidades

  • Analyze requirements and develop electronic circuits with microcontrollers and peripherals (AD/DA, sensors, actuators, interfaces).
  • Design and develop electronics systems for robotics platforms, focusing on BLDC motor control and battery-powered boards.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration of components.
  • Test, validate, and debug electronic systems to meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and foster a culture of learning and growth.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies to drive product innovation.

Job Description

At PAL Robotics, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of robotics technology and creating innovative solutions that have a real-world impact. As an Electronics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our cutting‑edge robotics platforms. As part of your role, you will be responsible for system design, implementation, and overseeing the manufacturing release. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in system design, both analog and digital circuitry, exhibit strong communication skills, and possess the ability to lead and nurture a team of Electronics Engineers.

Duties and responsibility
  • Analysis of requirements, conceptualization and development of electronic circuits with micro‑controllers and peripheral components for AD/DA conversion, sensor technology/electrical actuators, bus interfaces etc.
  • Design and development of electronics systems for advanced robotics platforms, with a focus on BLDC motor control and power board design for battery‑powered systems.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including mechanical engineering, software development, and firmware engineering, to ensure seamless integration of electronic components.
  • Conduct thorough testing, validation, and debugging of electronic systems to meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation in our products.
Qualifications
Required skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of hands‑on experience in designing motor control systems for BLDC applications, as well as power board design for battery‑powered systems.
  • Strong background on motor control drivers, CAN and EtherCAT buses.
  • Recent, product‑focused experience designing multilayered boards including actual hands‑on board layout, bring‑up, and debug experience.
  • Proven experience with EMI/EMC compliance challenges, design for reliability, and design for manufacturability.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex electronics projects from concept to production.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experienced Altium Designer user.
  • Good hands on with PCBAs and cabling.
Desired Skills And Experience
  • Complex multi‑axis control system architecture development: power, communication (CAN, Ethernet, EtherCAT), safety.
  • Multi‑Axis robot system integration.
  • Able to perform and understand SPICE analysis with proficiency.
  • Experience dealing with providers and manufacturing workshops.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.

  • Salary range: €35,000 – €45,000 gross per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Exceptional candidates with relevant experience may be considered above this range.
