Manage a team of Medical Representatives within a designated office, country, or region to achieve revenue, profit targets, and client satisfaction.
Essential Functions
- Manage staff according to organizational policies and applicable regulations, including planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, guiding professional development, rewarding, disciplining, addressing employee relations issues, and resolving problems.
- Approve human resources actions.
- Conduct onboarding training for new staff in collaboration with Human Resources and Learning and Development programs.
- Ensure staff have the necessary materials, system access, and training to perform their duties; oversee training plan execution and mentored experiences.
- Recruit appropriate resources for projects, establish tracking systems, and monitor project progress against plans.
- Act as a coach and mentor for Medical Sales Reps.
- Drive the effectiveness of the Electronic Territory Management System, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
- Manage partnerships at territory and regional levels with customer salesforces where relevant.
- Ensure accurate client charge figures are produced and communicated.
- Monitor KPIs, achieve revenue and contribution targets, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Identify risks and issues, and develop corrective action plans.
- Ensure adverse events are reported according to guidelines.
- Maintain a professional company image and adhere to pharmaceutical industry codes of practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Science or related field required.
- 5 years of medical sales experience, including management experience, required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Good understanding of the pharma market and procedures.
- Knowledge of health services structures and procedures at national and local levels.
- Knowledge of Secondary Care or Specialist arena.
- Ability to build relationships with customers and health representatives.
- Fluency in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Ability to mentor and train colleagues.
- Basic management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to monitor and plan to meet project objectives.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Industry-specific qualifications as required.
- Valid driver’s license.
