Agora Sant Cugat International School is seeking a dedicated Secondary Economics and Business Management Teacher on a temporary cover basis. You will deliver Economics in Spanish for MYP and Business Management in English for DP, within a vibrant international community near Barcelona.

The role requires a teaching qualification, a degree in Economics/Business, and strong English. This is a full-time, temporary contract with professional development opportunities within Globeducate network.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business, Finance or related field.
• Master's degree in Secondary Education, PGCE, CAP or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher).
• Ability to teach Business Management in English at DP level.
• Ability to teach Economics in Spanish at MYP level.
• Previous secondary teaching experience.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver engaging Economics and Business Management lessons across MYP and DP.
• Teach Business Management in English within the DP.
• Teach Economics in Spanish within the MYP.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning activities aligned with IB frameworks.
• Monitor progress and provide timely feedback for improvement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.

The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring and engaging students across the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), delivering high-quality teaching that promotes academic excellence, critical thinking and real-world application of economic and business concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Economics and Business Management across the MYP and DP programmes.
• Teach Business Management in English within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP).
• Teach Economics in Spanish within the Middle Years Programme (MYP).
• Plan, prepare and assess learning activities in line with IB frameworks and school expectations.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to support achievement and continuous improvement.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs, abilities and learning styles of individual students.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and engagement.
• Encourage students to develop analytical, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Support students in achieving their academic goals and preparing for higher education pathways.

Collaboration & School Life

• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities and Business departments to ensure consistency and excellence in teaching and learning.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, parent conferences, school events and professional development activities.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community and support extracurricular initiatives when appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues, reflecting the values and ethos of the school.
• Support the implementation of school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business, Finance or a related field.
• Master's Degree in Secondary Education, PGCE, CAP or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Advanced level of English (minimum C1 written and spoken).
• Ability to teach Business Management in English at DP level.
• Ability to teach Economics in Spanish at MYP level.
• Previous teaching experience in Secondary Education.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to student learning and development.
• Ability to work effectively within a multicultural and international environment.
• Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes will be highly valued.
• Experience teaching Economics and/or Business Management in international or bilingual schools will be considered an advantage.
• Proactive, collaborative and student-centred approach to education.
