Job summary

Alignerr (Powered by Labelbox) is seeking an experienced Economics Instructor for postsecondary-level AI training. This fully remote, hourly/task-based contract role involves designing and reviewing economics questions used to train AI systems and evaluating AI outputs for accuracy and clarity.

You will work asynchronously, 10–40 hours per week, applying your teaching experience to improve economic reasoning in model outputs while collaborating with top AI research teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-time experience teaching economics at the postsecondary level.
• Able to clearly explain and critically evaluate economic reasoning in written form.
• Experience grading or evaluating student work at scale (Nice to Have).

About The Role

We're looking for experienced postsecondary Economics instructors to evaluate and improve AI systems trained on economic reasoning — helping ensure that AI gets the economics right.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role powered by Alignerr (a Labelbox company), working alongside top AI research teams on cutting-edge language model projects.

What You'll Do

• Design and review economics questions and scenarios used to train and evaluate AI systems
• Assess the accuracy, clarity, and depth of AI-generated economics content
• Provide structured, expert feedback to improve economic reasoning in model outputs
• Apply your real-world teaching experience to validate concepts, identify edge cases, and catch errors
• Work independently and asynchronously — on your own schedule

Who You Are

• 3+ years of full-time experience teaching economics at the postsecondary level
• Strong command of core economics topics — micro, macro, and applied economics
• Able to clearly explain and critically evaluate economic reasoning in written form
• Comfortable reviewing structured content and delivering detailed, actionable feedback
• Self-motivated and reliable in an asynchronous, remote environment

Nice to Have

• Master's or PhD in Economics
• Experience grading or evaluating student work at scale
• Background in applied, policy, or data-driven economics
• Familiarity with AI, large language models (LLMs), or content evaluation workflows
