Formación

What you will do:
  • Execute economic offers in real-time energy markets: Prepare and submit economic offers for EDP Group's generation assets in Spain and others countries in Europe as Italy, France, Romania and Poland across real-time markets (Day ahead Market restrictions, intraday auctions, continuous intraday, and adjustment services), ensuring compliance with safety limitations and regulatory requirements, and maximizing economic outcomes.
    • Operate and supervise the hydroelectric fleet in Spain: Manage the operation of the hydroelectric plants, acting as the main point of contact with official bodies and maintenance teams, analyzing operational variables, and making decisions to ensure safe, environmentally responsible, and economically optimal exploitation.
    • Coordinate plant outages and operational maneuvers in collaboration with other dispatch centers and field teams, always ensuring safe execution, including acting as delegated dispatcher for renewables and cogeneration facilities.
    • Optimize the management of the energy portfolio: Maximize the economic revenues of the managed portfolio (conventional, renewable generation, intraday and ancillary services decisions) by adapting strategies to market conditions, contractual obligations, and operational flexibilities and constraints.
    • Control and optimize the Automatic Generation Control (AGC) system: Monitor and control the AGC system, making real-time operational decisions to optimize generation according to demand, including managing imbalances and curtailments for non-controllable generation (mainly wind).
    • Ensure outstanding knowledge of market dynamics and processes: Maintain deep expertise in market dynamics and operational processes for the geographies under responsibility, including offer generation, submission, and communication with market operators, TSOs, and dispatch centers.
    • Act as the Front Office expert and reference: Serve as the go-to expert for Front Office operations, supporting colleagues and clarifying doubts regarding market operations and processes.
    • Cooperate with the Dispatch Manager on the operational processed and IT developments: Lead the coordination between Front Office, Middle Office, IT, and external parties to implement operational changes and test new functionalities in market operation systems, ensuring successful production deployment.
    • Monitor incidents and ensure quality reporting: Follow up on operational incidents to ensure timely resolution and maintain the required quality of operational reports, acting as the focal point for communications with NEMOs, TSOs, and other external entities related to market operations.

What are we looking for:
  • Preferred degrees in Engineering, Business, Physics or Math science.
  • Up to 2 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: electricity/energy markets, renewable regulation, finance. Previous experience as a trader would be valued.
  • Experience working in English (i.e. written and oral English (bilingual)). Valued other languages.
  • Familiar with market jargon is valuable.
  • Domain of Microsoft Excel and other Office package.
  • VBA, Power BI and R, and SQL would be a plus.
  • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products (preferred)
  • Competency in Analytical Problem solving, strong communication, customer/partner relationships, and technology expertise (preferred)
  • Responsible, organized, analytical, problem solving.
