Apple Inc. in Barcelona seeks an engineer to lead Dutch ML/GenAI initiatives for nl_NL and nl_BE users, bridging ML and software engineering.

You'll work across ML models, data experiments, and scalable software to deliver culturally relevant Siri experiences.

This role sits at the intersection of ML, data, and software, collaborating with teams across Apple to design native Dutch user experiences.

Professional-level fluency in Dutch with deep familiarity with Netherlands or Belgium culture.
Experience applying machine learning and NLP techniques to deliver products.
Strong skills in software design and programming across paradigms, with testing/maintainability in large production code bases.
Experience working with data at scale, building or curating datasets, analyzing results, and making data-driven decisions.
Hands-on experience with large language models, prompt engineering, evaluation and inference optimization, including agentic systems, tool calling, or retrieval-augmented generation.
Experience with speech technologies such as ASR or TTS is a plus.
Experience adapting models across languages and markets—multilingual/cross-ling modeling, transfer learning, or low-resource settings.
Ability to formulate a research problem, design, experiment, implement and communicate solutions.
Product focus with strong emphasis on end-user experience.
Experience writing software in Python, Swift, Objective-C, C++ or C; Apple platforms preferred.
MS, PhD or equivalent practical experience.
