We are now seeking a Business Development Director with solid experience in interacting and deal‑making both with public and private companies and partners. This position is based in Barcelona.
Key responsibilities :
- Identify, negotiate, and join new strategic partners and collaborators to ensure its sustainability and growth.
- Responsible for defining the strategy to promote projects and select potential partners.
- Contacting national & international companies, associations, and clusters related to infectious diseases, to explore collaborations & potential funding sources.
- Responsible for promoting the company’s strategic and technical capabilities related to the different research areas.
- Collaborate with the various research groups to understand their competencies, including financial objectives, and propose to structure R&D strategies.
- Responsible for supporting project managers in the coordination of European projects throughout their life cycle, from negotiation to closure, including financial objectives and topics to structure their R&D strategy.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define and prepare the short-, medium-, and long‑term funding strategy including proposals to ensure quality issues.

Candidate profile :
- Bachelor's or PhD in life sciences or chemistry.
- 10 years’ Experience. In laboratory work, evolving from the lab to project management and then to business development roles. Important negotiating skills.
- Successful track record of creating value in drug discovery and / or development, in venture‑backed startups and / or biopharmaceutical companies.
- Experience leading deals to internalize projects, defining corporate strategy & priorities, and licensing products to other companies.
- Manage a wide range of stakeholders, from boards of directors to investors, related to current and future partners and customers.
- Experience in drafting documents, applying to calls for proposals, and in participating in multidisciplinary teams managing projects, both administratively and financially
- Interpersonal and communication skills, visionary attitude.
- Experience managing public or private funding programs. Such as, EU funding programs, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe
