Job summary

Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) in Barcelona seeks an Application Ops Engineer to strengthen our Operations Team. You will automate, standardize CI/CD pipelines, and configure shared operational platforms while collaborating closely with developers and platform teams.

You will gain hands-on experience with GitLab, Ansible, ArgoCD, Airflow, and Python, contributing to scalable deployment solutions and best practices across the application lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Interest in DevOps and automation across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
• Basic Python scripting for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and deployments.
• Exposure to observability/monitoring tools is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate in a cross-functional team.
• Proactive mindset and good communication in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and ArgoCD.
• Develop and maintain reusable automation templates with Ansible.
• Support deployment pipelines, workflows, and observability configurations.
• Assist in operating and improving Airflow scheduling/workflow platforms.
• Write Python scripts to support automation, integrations, and tasks.
• Drive standardization, security, and scalability in build/deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with central infrastructure on provisioning, upgrades, and shared platform services (Grafana, Vault, ELK).
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices; contribute to continuous improvement.
• Learn and apply modern DevOps tooling and share knowledge within the team.

What You Will Do

• Learn and apply modern DevOps tooling and practices, sharing knowledge within the team

What You Bring

• A strong interest in DevOps and automation across the software delivery lifecycle
• Hands-on experience or practical knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, ArgoCD, or similar tools
• Basic experience with Python for scripting or automation purposes
• Familiarity with Linux environments and application deployments
• Exposure to observability or monitoring tools such as Grafana, ELK, Prometheus is a plus
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and collaborate in a cross-functional environment
• Proactive mindset, good communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude
