Job summary

Savannah Technical College is seeking a 12-month, full-time Dental Hygiene Instructor to lead the program on the Savannah Campus. The role reports to the Dean for Health Sciences and the Department Head.

Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, assessments, and program coordination across classrooms, labs, and clinics. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in Dental Hygiene, active license, CPR, and two years of clinical practice.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Active Georgia Dental Hygienist license.
Two years clinical practice experience.
Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Valid driver’s license and required insurability.
Basic computer skills to include Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in classrooms, laboratories, and clinicals.
Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for the dental hygiene courses.
Develop and coordinate curriculum; conduct assessments of all courses taught in the department.
Evaluate effectiveness of courses through student data, graduate surveys, and employer surveys.
Maintain and submit accurate and current reports and records involving student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow-up.
Coordinate cooperative work experience programs and students as assigned.
