PepsiCo is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect for its International dCommerce engineering organization. You will guide architectural direction, define reference architectures across data platforms, BI tooling, and applications, and ensure coherence across Data, BI, and Product Engineering.

You will partner with Engineering Managers to balance innovation with pragmatism, navigate platform governance, and shape the technical future of scaling digital commerce capabilities.

Formación

• 6+ years as a solutions architect spanning data platforms and applications.
• Experience navigating enterprise platform teams and governance processes.
• Background in integration architecture across organizational boundaries.
• Strong software architecture foundation: system design, API design, SOA/ESB and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow) and data integration.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and infrastructure considerations.
• Understanding BI tool architectures (Power BI).
• Strong communication and ability to influence across teams.

Overview

At PepsiCo International dCommerce team, we are building the next generation of innovative products and capabilities using emerging technologies to accelerate our business and gain back share. While tied closely to broader PepsiCo, the dCommerce group has a unique start-up feel and defined values that embrace a more entrepreneurial mindset.

We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to guide the technical direction of our engineering organization as we scale. From evolving our data platform to transitioning to software, from BI tooling into a full application and AI for BI, you'll lead architecture and design reviews, define integration approaches with wider PepsiCo capabilities, and ensure we build coherently across Data Engineering, BI Engineering, and Product Engineering.

This is a role for someone who wants to build the blueprint, not just inherit one. You'll partner with Engineering Managers to make technology choices that balance innovation with pragmatism, navigate platform governance to unblock delivery, and ensure what we build today supports where we're heading. Responsibilities

Architecture and Design Oversight

• Lead software architecture and design reviews across the International Digital cCmmerce engineering organization, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and long-term goals
• Define and maintain reference architectures for dComm capabilities from data platform through to user-facing applications
• Ensure architectural coherence across Data Engineering, BI Engineering, and Product Engineering
• Participate in creating the the architectural runway in collaboration with Platform team by identifying foundational investments needed to support future capabilities

Platform and Integration Strategy

• Lead evaluation and design of integration approaches with wider PepsiCo capabilities and platforms relevant for International
• Partner with DTX Core Platform Team to ensure dComm needs are represented in platform decisions
• Navigate platform governance, submit requests, advocate for international requirements, ensure dComm isn't blocked by platform constraints
• Advise on AI for BI evolution

Technical Leadership

• Partner with Product Engineering Manager on application architecture decisions: technology selection, system design, scalability approach
• Provide architectural guidance on complex cross-functional initiatives that span multiple teams
• Review and challenge technical designs to ensure they meet non-functional requirements (performance, security, maintainability)

Standards and Governance

• Define and maintain software architecture standards for dComm: API design, service boundaries, security patterns, deployment approaches
• Ensure alignment with wider PepsiCo technology standards while advocating for dComm-specific needs
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, decision records, and design artefacts
• Guide Engineering Managers on architectural trade-offs and help them make informed decisions

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary architectural interface between dComm and DTX Core Platform Team
• Collaborate with Data Architect to ensure end-to-end coherence across data and application layers
• Represent dComm engineering in enterprise architecture forums and technology governance processes
• Advise leadership on technical feasibility, risks, and architectural implications of strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a solutions architect spanning data platforms and applications
• Experience navigating enterprise platform teams and governance processes
• Background in integration architecture connecting capabilities across organizational boundaries
• Strong software architecture foundation system design, API design, service-oriented and event-driven architectures
• Experience with modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow) and how applications integrate with data platforms
• Strong expertise in containerization technologies and container orchestration solutions
• Ability to create and maintain architecture diagramas to effectively communicate system design/technical decisions
• Understanding of cloud cost optimization, with the ability to balance cost, performance and business value in architectural decisions.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and infrastructure considerations
• Understanding of BI tools (Power BI) and their architectural limitations
• Experience with or strong interest in Elixir (or comparable functional languages for scalable applications)
• Knowledge of security, performance, and scalability patterns for enterprise applications
• Ability to guide and influence Engineering Managers without direct authority
• Strong communication skills and can articulate architectural rationale to technical and business audiences
• Comfortable operating in a matrix environment across dComm, DTX Platform, and enterprise functions
