Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud migration Delivery: Delivery of Database Upgrade services to cloud migration customers.
• Prototyping and Tooling: Contribute to innovation of tooling to automate the upgrade process.
• Mentoring and Continuous Improvement: Mentor junior team members and guide them. Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
• Product Expertise: Learn and master your assigned Guidewire product and pass the required Guidewire certification as a subject matter expert within the expected timeframe.
• AI: At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI, empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcome.

Technical & Functional Consultant Skills

• Creative Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to tackle unique, often unforeseen technical challenges with innovative, pragmatic solutions.
• Code Comprehension: Strong ability to analyze and understand diversely customized codebases with limited context, quickly identifying key components and making effective, context-aware modifications or enhancements.
• Data Analysis: Ability to validate customer dataset, analyse for discrepancies, identify root causes for discovered issues, and apply path to resolution.
• Escalation: Identify and highlight any potential delays or any other major issues with the project manager and/or tech lead.
• Workstream & Priority Management: Effectively balance multiple concurrent workstreams, calibrating time and effort against shifting priorities and deadlines to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across engagements.

Required Skills/Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on industry experience with Object-Oriented programming (preferably Java), relational databases (data modeling/SQL), web UI (design and development), and XML.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and LLMs is advantageous but not required. Interested in working with AI.
• Code Conflict Management: Proficient in analyzing 3-way merge conflicts, inferring developer intent across multiple branches, and applying informed decisions to achieve correct, conflict-free outcomes.
• Strong consulting skills including problem-solving, communicating effectively with customers, and knowledge contribution.
• Required Experience: Java, GIT, SQL.
• Preferred Experience: JSON, RESTful APIs, IntelliJ, SQL, Python, Gradle, AWS CLI.
• Flexibility: Ability to work within a team and independently.
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
