Momentum Global and its technology partner are seeking a Data Scientist in Barcelona to drive analytics at the intersection of data science and financial analysis. You will build models and dashboards, guiding business decisions while stewarding financial data across the organization.

The role targets someone with strong financial fundamentals and 5+ years in data science or analytics, proficient in Python and SQL, and capable of communicating insights to diverse stakeholders.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative analysis.
• Strong background in financial analysis and financial modelling, including P&L, cash flow, and ARR metrics.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience building and validating statistical models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex analyses to non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in English; Spanish desirable; other European languages an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the complete data lifecycle, from data creation to data storage, usage, and deletion.
• Understand the functional meaning of the data within datasets.
• Manage data quality by selecting metrics, resolving issues, and implementing improvements.
• Support the organisation in understanding and correctly using data.
• Participate in data governance and policy implementation with data owners.
• Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and reporting tools for profitability, ARR, and cash flow.
• Automate monthly closing routines, reconciliations, ARR calculations.
• Build predictive and prescriptive models for financial forecasting and cost analysis.
• Analyze financial data and operational metrics to identify patterns and opportunities.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic Data Scientist, ideally with strong financial fundamentals to join our team in Barcelona. You'll work at the intersection of data science and financial analysis, building models and insights that help business stakeholders make better decisions while acting as a steward of the organisation’s financial data. This is an opportunity to apply sophisticated analytical techniques to a business environment with unique characteristics and real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete data lifecycle, from data creation to data storage, usage, and deletion.
• Understand the functional meaning of the data within datasets.
• Manage data quality by selecting appropriate metrics, resolving data quality issues, and implementing improvement plans.
• Support the organisation in understanding and correctly using data within their datasets.
• Participate in data governance and policy implementation alongside business data owners.
• Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and reporting tools that provide stakeholders with actionable insights into profitability, ARR, and cash flow.
• Automate repetitive processes, including monthly closing routines and reconciliations.
• Automate and maintain ARR calculations.
• Build predictive and prescriptive models for financial forecasting, cost analysis, and business performance optimisation.
• Analyse financial data and operational metrics to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative analysis.
• Strong background in financial analysis and financial modelling, including a solid understanding of P&L statements, cash flow, and ARR metrics.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience building and validating statistical models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex analyses to non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in English; Spanish is desirable, and additional European languages are an advantage.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in restaurant technology, hospitality technology, or SaaS analytics.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines.
