NN Digital Hub in Madrid is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to scale NN Data Analytics Platform (NNDAP) and Data Lab on Azure. You will build reusable data components, enabling BUs to deliver data products faster with strong governance.

You’ll join an international, agile team, mentor peers, and contribute to multi-tenant data platforms using PySpark, Python, SQL, and IaC. Hybrid work and strong benefits accompany the role.

Formación

• 5-7+ years of software, data, or platform engineering experience.
• Significant Azure experience (ADLS/Delta Lake, Databricks, ADF) and multi-tenant/productized data platforms.
• Strong fundamentals: Python (incl. PySpark), SQL, CI/CD, packaging, testing, and IaC (Bicep, Pulumi).
• Security and governance awareness in regulated environments.

Responsabilidades

• Refine, build, test, deploy and automate core data components for NNDAP/DataLab on a shared code base.
• Translate needs from various business units into modular, reusable data solutions.
• Design and optimize the data platform architecture; contribute to product vision and mentor teammates.
• Share knowledge, pair program and participate in the NN Data Platform community.
• Enable business teams to run data and AI projects and mentor junior engineers.

Data Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to grow our team of data experts. Your goal will be to constantly improve and scale our group wide adopted NN DataAnalyticsPlatformor namely NNDAPand the Data Lab.NN Data Analytics Platform (NNDAP) is a product that provides a governed, compliant, and cost-effective Azurelakehousefoundation. It includes reusable components for data extraction, ingestion, harmonization, and quality—enabling Business Units (BUs) to build their own analytics platforms and data products faster, with reduced cognitive load. NN Data Lab (NNDL) is a managed Databricks environment designed for non-IT users, offering a simplified experience with built-in governance and automation to support data-driven experimentation and insight generation.

Your Impact as Data Platform Engineer:

What are you going to do

• You willrefine,build, test, deployand automatethe core functional data components as part of the NNDAP/Datalabproductand offer that as a standardon a common code base serving all internal customers.

• Understand the needs of your various customers from differentbusinessunits and translate them to modular solutions which are usable by the vast majority.

• You brainstorm and design solutions tooptimizeour data platform solution architecturealong with other team members toreach tothe best technicalsolution together.Contribute to the product vision, teamlearning skills by mentoring and lead technical discussions

• Share knowledge in our data engineering community, pair program and collaborate on code together with other data engineers within NNand lead/guideorparticipatetheinnersourcecommunity of NNDAP.

• Enable business teams to run successful data and AI projectsand be a tech savvy or mentor other junior engineers.

Who you are:

• You have5-7+yearsof relevant software,dataand/or platform engineering experience, building platforms which are modular, testable,scalableand easily consumable.

• data/platform engineering with significant Azure experience (ADLS/Delta Lake, Databricks, ADF) and proven delivery ofmulti‑tenantor productized data platforms.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals: Python (incl.PySpark), SQL, CI/CD, packaging, testing, andIaC(Bicep,Pulumia plus).

• Practical mastery oflakehouse& medallion design, data quality, lineage/metadata, and cost/performanceoptimisationon cloud.

• Security & governance awareness (e.g., Unity Catalog, role/attribute‑basedaccess, secrets, policies) in regulated environments.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to monitoring/observability and LCM at platform level.

• Familiarity with Eventdrivenpatterns/streaming and LakeFlow evolution alongside ADF.

• Experience preparing platforms for API drivendata product exposure and higher availability patterns.

• Participation in communities such as the Data Engineering Guild.
