Metyis is seeking a data engineer to join our Barcelona team. You will own end-to-end data handling, from ingestion to analytics, collaborating with data scientists and stakeholders to enable data-driven decisions.

The role requires 1–2 years in data engineering, proficiency in SQL and Python, and experience with Databricks or pay-as-you-go DWH technologies. Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with Databricks or other pay-as-you-go DWH technologies.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and distributed processing tools.
• Understanding of data integration and ELT processes.
• Good problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose problems, disaggregate issues, develop hypotheses and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with teams to understand end-user requirements.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Databricks and other DWH tools, ensuring efficiency.
• Monitor pipeline performance and resolve issues promptly.
• Work with data lakes (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage) to organize and store large datasets.
• Apply data quality and governance practices for accuracy, consistency and security.
• Support data scientists with data needs for analytics and ML tasks.
• Stay updated on data engineering, cloud tech and big data trends.
• Create and maintain documentation for pipelines, storage, and processing workflows.

What you will do:

• Diagnose problems, disaggregate issues, develop hypotheses and execute relevant solutions

• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly
• Work with Azure Data Lake Storage to manage and store large datasets, ensuring data is easily accessible and well-organized
• Implement data quality and data governance best practices to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data
• Work closely with data scientists to understand their data requirements and provide the necessary support for their analytics and machine learning tasks
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering, cloud technologies, and big data tools
• Create and maintain documentation related to data pipelines, data storage, and data processing workflows

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a data engineering role
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience With Databricks Or Other Pay-as-you-go DWH Technologies
• Familiarity with big data technologies and distributed processing tools
• Understanding of data integration and ELT processes
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
