Job summary

Bynder is seeking a Data Engineer to build data pipelines and scalable data platforms in the cloud, enabling data-driven insights for stakeholders and customers.

You will collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Software Engineers and DevOps to improve the Bynder product and expand the customer base through informed data decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• Experience designing data platforms and making architectural decisions.
• Knowledge of Data Mesh and data governance best practices.
• Developing data flows for processing data at scale.
• Experience with Spark and Kafka.
• Hands-on with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR).
• Experience with Airflow and Terraform.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Take a leading role in improving Data architecture using Data Mesh principles.
• Develop, scale, maintain and deploy data platform infrastructure in the cloud.
• Apply Data Lineage and Governance across the organization.
• Support Product & Engineering teams with data needs.
• Develop ETL pipelines, detect anomalies, and optimize aggregations for analysis and dashboards.

As a Data Engineer at Bynder you will work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers, and anyone who uses data driven insights in their work. We are looking for someone who will help us develop data pipelines and build self-serve data tools for our internal stakeholders and customers. In this role you will see the direct impact of your work on our initiatives in improving the Bynder product, growing the customer base, and providing insights to our internal stakeholders.

What will you do

• Take a leading role in the improvement of our Data architecture by applying Data Mesh principles.
• Develop, scale, maintain and deploy our data platform infrastructure in the cloud.
• Take a leading role in applying Data Lineage and Governance throughout the organisation.
• Support the entire Product & Engineering organisation in their data needs.
• Develop custom ETL pipelines, detect anomalies, and create optimised aggregations for analysis and dash boarding.

What will you bring as a Data Engineer

Minimum of 5+ years of Data Engineering experience and furthermore hands-on experienced in:

• Experienced fully in AI Native development.
• Designing Data Platforms and taking architectural decisions, leading the way towards better data ecosystems.
• Knowledge and experience in Data Mesh.
• Knowledge and experience in Data Governance and Data Lineage best practices.
• Developing data flows for the processing of data at scale.
• Using industry standard data pipelining tools (Spark, Kafka).
• Working with AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, etc.).
• Using data/task orchestration tools (Airflow).
• Cloud computing-based data cloud solutions (Snowflake).
• Using infrastructure-as-code solutions (Terraform).
• Partnering with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists and devops in defining a modern data architecture.
